An Athlete Turned Athletic Trainer

Lindsey Knapp is no stranger to the rough-and-tumble world of competitive sports as she played on the men’s lacrosse team in high school since her school in Arnold, Missouri, did not have a men’s team, and now she is helping others stay in the game.

Lyndsey Knapp, an athletic trainer for MBU who is finishing her master’s degree in fitness management this month, has enjoyed the one-to-one interaction with athletes as she has helped them work through injuries to get back into competition, and now she is moving on to her next challenge in life.

Pursuing Hope After Career-Ending Injuries

Missouri Baptist University lacrosse goalkeeper Alexis Womble has been forced to support her team from the sidelines as too many concussions and other various injuries have led her doctors to recommend she no longer play the sport she loves most. And the MBU senior is exhibiting mature Christian faith in how she deals with the setback.

Alexis Womble keeps a contagious smile on her face even though she is no longer able to protect the goal she has been used to guarding as a lacrosse player for several years, as she has learned to “let go and let God.”

Exceeding the Role

Two-time captain of the Missouri Baptist University men’s lacrosse team has set the example both on and off the field for his teammates as he leads them toward a third straight NAIA National Invitational Tournament appearance in his senior season. The National Invitational is set for May 7.
